Katie Sowers made history by becoming the first lesbian coach of an NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers. Recently, she made history again by becoming the first female coach to train a team that qualified for Super Ball.
But beyond sport, Katie Sowers has a big heart too.
100 LGBTQ athletes, a record, were pleased to have qualified for the Summer Olympics, which are only held every four years. They were expected in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, from July 24 to August 9, 2020, ready to represent their country and our community; ready to surpass themselves in their quest for a medal. But all that has changed with the coronavirus outbreak.
Over 100 LGBTQ athletes are expected to compete in the Tokyo Olympics this summer, even if of course we still don’t know if the Olympics will take place because of the coronavirus. They are scheduled to start on July 24, 2020, and are due to end on August 9.
