The LGBTQ community and its allies have asked Holland City Council to amend the current anti-discrimination ordinance to include protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Some councilors have already taken part in the previous vote in 2011 so we already know that Myron Trethewey is likely to be against again and Jay Peters and David Hoekstra will be in favor of it.
And if you add Mayor Bocks’ vote, that’s three votes in favor and one against. That’s not bad!
Now we have to see if the councilors agree to discuss and vote on the matter.
The year’s first meeting will be held on January 8, 2020.
