The Pope has been quoted as saying "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge?" The Pope's words are a step in the right direction. It seems like he might be moving towards acceptance of homosexuality. But not so fast, Francis! Vatican is still condemning same-sex relationships in the world by calling them "objectively disordered." If you keep up this homophobic attitude, we'll just have to keep on judging you.
During an interview with Mexican channel Televisa, Pope Francis said that "homosexual people have the right to be in a family."
It's important to remember that the Pope is still not fully accepting of homosexuality. Though he has said "who am I to judge," it's clear from his other quotes that Francis' stance on same-sex unions is no more than a small step in the right direction. If you keep up this homophobic attitude, we'll just have to keep judging you; and who are we? We're LGBTQ people! And if there ever was an authority figure with good judgment, it would be us!
