“Married At First Sight” Australia Featured A First Lesbian Couple

In its last season, the Australian version of TV show “Married At First Sight” featured a lesbian couple, Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz.

American Viewers Spread Their Hate

While the show will air in the US from May 27 on Lifetime, homophobic comments spread in no time on the social network after a post introducing the couple under the heading: “Australia’s Same-Sex Couple” was posted on the American Facebook page of the show.

It was expected that LGBTQ couples would begin to be featured in the show, but viewers rejected the idea. It looks like they still have a problem with a lesbian wedding.

Are We Gonna Like The Show? SPOILER ALERT!

Sure, some people can’t wait to check out the episodes, but does that mean we should look forward to watching this season? I’m afraid it’s not worth it.

The couple gave the LGBTQ audience in Australia a not captivating performance from what I’ve read and there’s a good chance that this will be the case for the Americans as well.

While the couple did participate in their way in the inclusion of the LGBTQ community in the media and that matters, MAFS’s first lesbian couple left the show earlier than expected.

Tash lacked interest in Amanda, who seemed too aggressive for her. They didn’t fall in love and didn’t end together. Actually, an online feud began between the two women after they left the show.

In March, Amanda apologized for this disastrous portrayal of same-sex couples.

“Unfortunately, this relationship has not been a representation of what gay relationships are really like,” she wrote.

“There is a lot of good functioning gay couples out there and I’m sorry that this didn’t do the gay community justice this time around.”
