New achievement for Belle Brockhoff, the Australian snowboarder committed to fighting for LGBTQ+ rights!
Lesbian Australian snowboarder Belle Brockhoff, who publicly opposed Russia's anti-LGBTQ laws prior to participating in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games and also competed in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games, has now achieved another major feat. She recently claimed the top spot at this year's World Ski and Snowboard Cross Championships held in Sweden.
This is Brockhoff’s first-ever gold medal in the snowboard cross mixed teams event, and probably not her last.
Belle Brockhoff is one of those snowboarders who are on the rise. She has been steadily improving since the beginning of her career when she appeared first at the 2013 world championships and finished 13th.
By obtaining better rankings at the major championships, she also finished 4th in the solo snowboard cross event at the 2021 world championships, she is becoming an unavoidable opponent and will surely be counted on at the next Winter Olympic Games to be held in Beijing in 2022.
After lesbian speed skater Brittany Bowe, here is a new LGBTQ female athlete who has distinguished herself during these world championships. Congratulations!
