While you may not be religious, it’s important to know what religions says about LGBTQ people. Not only do many religions have a definite stance on the topic but they can also wield significant power in shaping legislation and public opinion. For example, Pope Francis has said that LGBTQ people should be respected but the Catholic Church is largely opposed to same-sex marriage and other LGBTQ rights.
