In episode 2 of the final season, Luz, Camila, Amity, Hunter, Gus, and Willow finally made their way to the Boiling Isles. But they quickly realized something was wrong. They discovered that The Collector, the all-powerful but childlike entity that has taken control of the boiling isles, was wreaking havoc, and they had to seek refuge at Hexside to protect themselves. After a series of shocking events, the protagonists found themselves trapped in the detention pit before figuring out how to reach The Collector’s palace. Meanwhile, King and The Collector continued their dangerous “game,” but a betrayal was revealed, leaving the heroes facing a final battle for the Boiling Isles.
“Watching and Dreaming” continues the story where the previous episode left off. After joining the demon realm and understanding the situation in the boiling isles, Luz and her friends are spotted by The Collector. Luz reunites with King and Eda, and together they must save the situation.
Meanwhile, Emperor Belos holds the Titan's heart, which is sleeping and comprises most of the Boiling Isles’ territory. Belos uses the heart to execute his evil plan of exterminating all witches.
Unlike the previous two episodes of season 3, the finale is more action-packed and less introspective. Luz has already spent the last two episodes exploring her inner self, facing her past mistakes, and understanding what she truly wants. Episode 3 uses that and propels Luz towards Eda and King in their rescue mission. The entire episode is thrilling and full of suspense, a true adventure for Luz and her friends.
